Cyprus has claimed the number-one position in a global holiday home index, created and published by Compare the Market, Australia.
Between 15 September 2024 and 15 September 2025, in total 1,669 properties were sold to overseas buyers, 962 of which area residential properties. 385 were purchased by EU citizens, while 577 were bought by non-EU nationals.
Limassol led Cyprus’ high-end property market in the first half of 2025, with six of the country’s ten biggest deals worth a total of €105.7 million.
On July 10, 2025, Parliament passed a law providing for the creation of a Cypriot VIS, enabling the integration into the European Union’s Visa Information System (VIS). This marks a significant step in Cyprus’s path toward joining the Schengen Area.
