Cyprus has claimed the number-one position in a global holiday home index, created and published by Compare the Market, Australia.
The study, which assessed more than 50 destinations, found the island to be the most attractive place to purchase a holiday residence, followed by Australia, Malta, Italy, and Greece.
Destinations were evaluated on several criteria including the range of available activities, housing prices, and local climate.
