Cyprus property sales made a strong start in 2026, as the number of sales contracts deposited at Land Registry offices nationwide increased by 11 per cent in January compared with the same month in 2025.
Figures released by the Department of Lands and Surveys show that 1,411 property sales contracts were filed during the month, up from 1,275 in January last year.
Limassol recorded the highest volume of transactions, with 445 properties sold in January, compared with 429 a year earlier, marking a 4 per cent increase.
January’s figures represent the strongest performance for the month since 2008, when property sales reached their highest levels since 2007.
Overall, the year has begun on an encouraging footing, with sales growth reported across all districts, underlining continued confidence in the market and the sector’s resilience.
