In the first months of this year, there has been a significant increase in the number of building permits compared to 2020.
According to the press release of the Statistical Services of Cyprus from the 7th of July, the number of building permits authorized by the municipal authorities and the district administration offices during April 2021 stood at 627. The total value of these permits reached €230,6 million and the total area 192,9 thousand square meters. These building permits provide for the construction of 955 dwelling units.
During the period January – April 2021, 2.524 building permits were issued compared to 1.721 in the corresponding period of the previous year, recording an increase of 46,7%. The total value of these permits increased by 34,2% and the total area by 36,0%. The number of dwelling units recorded an increase of 49,8%.
